Situated on Sheffield’s Division Street, Bungalows & Bears hosts numerous free events monthly and boasts a well-stocked bar of ales from around the globe.

While it may be a familiar destination for those who live in Sheffield, Bungalows & Bears is a pub that offers huge variety in terms of entertainment and is sure to have something suited to your tastes. Whether that be reggae or R’n’B, house or hip-hop or even just an appreciation of listening to albums on vinyl.

Converted from an old fire station, the pub’s unique layout sets it apart from the rest. Cosy sofas and armchairs help to provide a relaxed atmosphere while gig posters and pictures of both bungalows and bears litter the red-brick walls.

One of the managers, 24-year-old Sam Bramhall says the décor is one of her favourite things about the venue: “I used to say before I worked here that it’s like being in a living room, it’s just so relaxed. Continue reading

Whether it’s retro 70s, 80s and 90s fashion, a unique trinket or the odd spot of jewellery that you’re after, Sheffield is an excellent city for those one-of-a-kind finds.

Sheffield Does Vintage brings Cutler’s Hall to life in a room full of exciting stalls, vibrant with the buzz of revellers soaking in the atmosphere while on the hunt for that perfect vintage find.

Sisters Julie Forrest and Martine Welsh from Sheffield are volunteers for Save The Children and are hosting a stall here to try and sell their donated vintage stock to raise funds for the cause.

They began collecting stock to sell at these fairs around three years ago after attending a vintage fair at a Church. Martine says they began to collect so much it got to the point  where they were “pushing it behind the door” in an attempt to try and keep it all contained.

On their first attempt at holding a stall, they managed to raise £200 for their charity.

It’s undeniable that they both share an admirable passion for helping those less fortunate than themselves, as they also volunteer at the Save The Children shop on Crookes Road at Broomhill – which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.

While they do have to pay stall fees, Martine says the organisers of events like Britain Does Vintage often help by paying “a small amount, like £10 or £20″ as their stall is non-profit.
